Off the Table

Patients keep asking us two things: “Where do I sort out my insurance?” and “What do you guys do for fun?” The top section answers the first. This one answers the second.

The Watch Corner

It started when Dr. John brought his father's old watch in for a story, not a service, and nobody in the office could answer his questions about the case. The whole front desk got curious, and a small “watch corner” appeared by the reception desk — reference cards, a magnifier, and a running list of the models the doctors are studying this month.

These days the current project is the Nautilus, Patek Philippe's most recognizable case. Lately the desk has been comparing Nautilus replica options side by side, because as Dr. Jan puts it, “you learn to read a watch the same way you learn to read an x-ray — by knowing exactly what you're looking at.”

No one at this office sells watches. If a replica Patek Philippe ends up on a wrist, it's because someone wanted to understand the real one down to the case thickness. Slow Tuesdays at the front desk get a lot more interesting once the reference cards are out.
